New Water Meter Installation Beginning

For all Town of Pikeville water customers, we are beginning to install the new water meters that will allow the town to connect digitally through new software. When the project is complete, every water meter will have been replaced. If you see members of the town staff or people with the logo from AMI in or around your property, just know that is what their purpose. Installation generally only takes about 15 minutes under normal conditions. It could take up to 30 minutes to an hour if there are extra steps required to switch out the old meter to the new one. Someone from AMI will knock on your door prior to work beginning to explain the process and what to expect. If no one is home, they will leave a door hanger with the necessary information. During the meter change out, the water will be turned off at your property, but will be very short term. We apologize in advance for that short service interruption but this new system will benefit us all in numerous ways, like leak detection.
